After getting engaged in Italy and having survived yet another dour British summer, we very quickly decided that Italy would be a great place to get married. A quick bit of research revealed that this wasn’t going to be easy. Most planners were based in Italy and had very different ideas of a dream wedding to ours. Thankfully we discovered Love and Lord, and straight from the first meeting we were convinced we had made the right decision.
Originally we thought that to get everything done we would need 16 months of preparation, but after some careful assurances from James we were delighted to hear that we could move this forward to June, 8 months from our first meeting. The first trip to Italy with James blew us away. The range of venues that they made available to us were truly outstanding. Although for us, there was only one venue that would do, a villa on the outskirts of Florence.
This Florentine villa is a sea of calm amongst the busy cosmopolitan throng of Florence, as soon as we saw the view we knew that no other venue would do. The first trip was soon followed by a second and final trip to undertake some food tasting, always a pleasure, this was where we met Edoardo, who was to be our caterer, once again like everyone we met he accommodated every detail and had his own very useful tips. They always made the trips enjoyable and they were a great excuse to visit Tuscany again.
The eight months flew by and with a careful bit of hand holding from the big day soon arrived. In the days leading up to the wedding they took care of every little detail, meaning that we just had to turn up and enjoy the day. The day itself exceeded any of our expectations, the organisation, food, entertainment were all magnificent.
Since the wedding we have had many expressions of thanks from our guests for what was a truly amazing wedding. This was only made possible by the dedication, attention to details and hard work of everyone at Love and Lord. We would both like to take this opportunity to say a very very big thank you to the whole team at Love and Lord, hopefully one day you can help us arrange our wedding anniversary in Italy.
